Carnival Horizon, Carnival Cruise Line’s newest vessel, is the first ship in the fleet to highlight the Dr. Seuss WaterWorks. The whimsical water park is inspired by the stories and characters of the legendary Dr. Seuss. Both the water park and Carnival vessel will be unveiled in Europe on April 2, 2018.

The Seuss-themed park, which will be situated on Deck 12 of the new cruise ship, features two different kinds of slides. The Cat in the Hat slide is a raft-type slide that offers over 450 feet of spiraling turns and fun. Entry to the slide is marked by the Cat’s well-known red and white hat.
The other slide, the Fun Things slide, is an enclosed water slide that features special light effects and a polka-dot design. Participants will enjoy 213 feet of heart-pounding slide entertainment. The Dr. Seuss WaterWorks park will also feature a splash zone for kids, equipped with a variety of spray toys and a large 150-gallon tipping bucket that resembles the Cat’s red hat.

In addition to the splash-tastic furnishings, the Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will also feature large images of the Grinch with a surfboard tucked under his arm and the Cat in the Hat clutching an inner tube. Thing 1 and Thing 2, gamboling on the Fun Things slide, will be on hand to greet visitors too.
This imaginative enterprise is not limited to kids but is open to guests of all ages. The water park attraction is just one of the various family-fun amenities showcased on the Carnival Horizon, which is also home to a bike-ride-in-the-sky, called the SkyRide, and a SportSquare outdoor recreational area.
Extra-large staterooms are also available for families in the Family Harbor section of the ship – a space that includes a lounge that features board games, large-screen TVs, and free breakfast and snacks.
The maiden voyage of the Carnival Horizon will depart from Barcelona for a 13-day Mediterranean trip. After making four of these kinds of journeys, then ship will then set sail to New York from Barcelona, with a trans-Atlantic crossing planned from May 9 to 23, 2018.
