Carnival Cruise Line has just released news that it has reached an important milestone in Australia. The cruise line has welcomed a half million passengers since it started sailing its Australian-based ships, the Carnival Legend and Carnival Spirit. The sailing vessels have been welcoming cruise ship guests since 2012.
A Milestone Event
To celebrate this milestone event, Carnival featured a special welcome for first-time cruise passengers, the Anderson family, who were the 500,000th passengers. Mat and Briohney Anderson, who are both personal trainers from the Sydney area, were guests on the Carnival Spirit with their children Taylor (8) and Ollie (6).
The family was taking an 11-night New Caledonia cruise with Carnival when they found out about the news. The cruise, which was taken to celebrate Briohney’s 40th birthday, also marked the first holiday the family had taken in five years.
A Popular Cruise Location
The cruise with Carnival for the family was heightened with celebratory balloons and a cake. While the family was expecting to celebrate a birthday, they also were able to commemorate a surprising cruise event. Cruising down under is a popular pastime as is demonstrated by the number of cruise passengers that have sailed in the area in the past four years.
