Norwegian Luna Sets Sail for the Caribbean in 2026: New Ship, New Destinations, and Luxury Aboard
Norwegian Cruise Line is introducing its 21st ship, Norwegian Luna, available for bookings now. Slated for its maiden voyage in April 2026, this cutting-edge ship will embark on multiple Caribbean routes, showcasing Norwegian’s commitment to luxury and adventure. Sailing round-trip from Miami, Norwegian Luna will offer cruises through November 2026, allowing guests to explore vibrant destinations in both the western and eastern Caribbean.
Diverse Caribbean Itineraries
Norwegian Luna’s inaugural season brings two exciting itinerary options to travelers. The western Caribbean route offers stops at Roatan Island, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, Belize—Norwegian’s private, resort-style island destination. In addition, the eastern Caribbean journey includes Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private Bahamian island which will soon feature a new pier. With its choice of tropical destinations, Norwegian Luna promises sun-filled adventures and a unique blend of local cultures and natural beauty.
Enhanced Size and Twinship Design
Norwegian Luna stands out in the fleet, measuring an impressive 1,056 feet in length and weighing 156,300 gross tons. With the capacity to accommodate approximately 3,550 guests, this ship represents a 10% increase in size over Norwegian’s Prima Class ships, Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Designed as a twin to Norwegian Aqua, which launches in March 2025, Luna shares Aqua’s luxurious design crafted by world-class interior firms like AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio Dado. Both ships are being constructed by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, known for producing some of the world’s most sophisticated ocean liners.
“La Luna”: Norwegian Luna’s Captivating Hull Art
Adding an artistic dimension, Norwegian Luna will feature an intricate hull artwork titled “La Luna” by street artist ELLE, known for her collaborations with Nike, Reebok, and Ralph Lauren. “La Luna” depicts humanity’s ancient connection with lunar and celestial forces, creating an enchanting visual experience for passengers as they embark on a journey inspired by the moon’s beauty and mystique. This striking artwork on the bow will establish Norwegian Luna as a floating piece of art in the Caribbean.
Thrilling Onboard Attractions
Norwegian Luna is built for entertainment, featuring the Aqua Slidecoaster, a hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide set to debut on Norwegian Aqua. Luna’s Aqua Slidecoaster will be one of the fastest and longest at sea, propelling thrill-seekers through exciting twists around the ship’s funnel. Other highlights include Glow Court, a digital sports complex that transforms into a nightclub after dark, and The Drop, NCL’s 10-story free-fall slide. Guests can also enjoy an outdoor sports space, The Stadium, offering complimentary activities like ping pong, mini-golf, and more.
Unmatched Ocean Views and Seaside Retreats
Norwegian Luna offers several unique onboard venues designed to bring guests closer to the ocean. The Ocean Boulevard, a 46,000-square-foot wraparound promenade, features breathtaking views, while the Vibe Beach Club provides an adults-only retreat. Infinity Beach and an expansive pool deck with day beds allow travelers to soak up the sun and enjoy the open sea.
Premium Accommodations in The Haven
For travelers seeking luxury, Norwegian Luna introduces the exclusive Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites within The Haven by Norwegian®. These suites feature expansive two-story accommodations with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a private balcony, along with 24-hour butler service and a concierge team.
