Setting sail on December 1 from Trieste, the new flagship of MSC Cruises, the MSC Seaside, will be officially named in Miami on December 21, 2017. This date is also the expected arrival date of the vessel, which is currently making a Transatlantic trip to her new homeport.
When the MSC Seaside arrives, it will be given its official moniker during an elaborate naming ceremony. Sophia Loren will officiate at the event. After the ceremony, the ship will follow seven-night eastern and western Caribbean schedules, beginning on December 23, 2017.
The new Miami addition is unique in that its design was inspired by the condos on Miami Beach. However, the ship is also noted for its outstanding amenities. Not only will the vessel feature excellent entertainment, it will also play host to an elaborate dining and luxury experience.
Some of the featured amenities include catwalks made of glass and a 40-meter “Bridge of Sighs”, aptly named for its breathtaking views of the surrounding ocean. The ship also features a waterfront boardwalk, which the widest one ever built on a cruise ship.
MSC for Me offers a digitally connected cruise experience as well, using innovative technologies to connect guests with activities on the ship and on land. You can also zip line to your heart’s content, as the ship features a zip line that is the longest at sea. In addition, an interactive aqua park features five exciting attractions, all which lead to never-ending fun.
Guests can easily whet their appetites on the new flagship, given the vessel’s many and varied dining options. Not only can you dine indoors, you can enjoy the balmy ocean breezes outside while savoring some of the finest in international cuisine.
Some of the highlighted venues include the Asian Market Kitchen; the acclaimed seafood restaurant, the Ocean Cay; the steakhouse, the Butcher’s Cut; and La Bohème, a French bistro restaurant.
Families will love sailing on the new flagship as it offers features, such as the DOREMI Family Cinemas, a fun buzzer game, a full-sized bowling alley, and six areas designed especially for babies and kids.
