MSC Cruises, a worldwide cruise leader, has been recognized for its influence and leadership in the cruise industry, winning 30 awards during 2015. The Cruise Industry News Annual Report for 2015-2016 acclaimed MSC Cruises as the top cruise line in the Mediterranean and Europe. The popular line captured the number one spot due, in part, to the fleet’s large capacity across Europe. The fleet can accommodate just over 1 million customers across the continent.
A report issued from Geneva, Switzerland on October 12, 2015, stated that MSC Cruises has been honored with cruise industry awards 2015 standings that highlight the cruise line’s efforts in marketing and entertainment. The cruise line said that it received a Bronze Lion during the Cannes Lions, which is the largest yearly show of its kind in the field of creative communications.
MSC’s Bronze Lion was awarded for the appearance of the MSC Magnifica during the 825th Hamburg Harbour anniversary event. A “Best Marketing Award” was also given to MSC Cruises for its promotional initiatives by the Travel Industry Club Germany.
MSC, in the UK, garnered further awards and critical acclaim, receiving such varied awards as “Best Cruise Line” from the Silver Travel Advisor and Best (Cruise) for the Mediterranean from the Travel Weekly Cool Cruises Awards. The line was also given the distinction of Best Cruise Company in Dublin at the city’s Travel Media Awards event.
In Spain, MSC Cruises was given critical praise from a variety of travel industry insiders. The company was given accolades for being “Best Cruise Company of the Year” by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine and the noted distinction of Most Modern Fleet during the Leaders Tourism Awards event sponsored by Graceta3, a trade magazine in Spain.
The US awarded MSC Cruises with the award of Best Production Show for Witches of Paris during the Editor-in-Chief Awards event hosted for Porthole Cruise Magazine. The MSC Divina was the ship noted for the honor. The cruise line’s fleet also was given the distinction of displaying the Best Standard Cabins, including suites with ocean views and staterooms with balconies.
