According to news from Miami, Carnival Corporation has announced plans to build a new Cunard ship. The vessel, which will become the fourth ship in the Cunard fleet, is scheduled to enter service in 2022. Carnival stated that the addition would help strengthen the Cunard brand and support its plans for continued growth.
A Fourth Ship For The Cunard Fleet
The new Cunard ship will be designed and built by Fincantieri S.p.A., the renowned Italian shipbuilder. Construction will take place in Monfalcone, Italy, enabling Cunard to operate four ships simultaneously for the first time in several decades. The vessel, which has not yet been named, will join Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria in the Cunard fleet.

Following the new agreement, Carnival Corporation has 18 new cruise ships scheduled for delivery between 2018 and 2022.
Investment Across The Existing Fleet
The addition of the new vessel will allow Cunard to expand its presence in the luxury cruise market. The company’s wider investment programme has also included extensive refurbishment work, with more than $170 million spent over the previous two years on upgrades to Queen Victoria and the flagship Queen Mary 2.
