Norwegian Cruise Line owns and operates a partially developed island in the Bahamas. It’s part of the Berry Island chain. The part of the island that cruise guests can visit has so much to offer that you may never want to get back on the ship again soon. Silver Cove is a private beach area of Great Stirrup Cay.
Don’t Miss Out on Silver Cove When You Visit Great Stirrup Cay
One of the favorite places to pitch a beach umbrella on Great Stirrup Cay is Silver Cove. As the name suggests, it’s a beautiful stretch of beach with silvery turquoise waters. The one downside is that it is reserved for the highest paying luxury guests of the Norwegian Cruise ships. If you pay a little extra, you get a spot on this most beautiful of beaches and water.
At “the Cove”, there are several little places where you can enjoy your shore leave from the ship. Each one of these resort-style cabins and villas is very posh, and each one has its own unique extras to experience and enjoy. Other guests from the cruise ship are not allowed to enter, so this area is entirely private for the higher paying guests.

Options for Your Stay
You have four different options and levels of comfort if you want to stay on this private beach area.
Ocean Villas
Ocean villas are like the most perfect little beach houses. You have a gorgeous scenic view of the ocean and the cove itself. Open the patio doors onto your own private patio and feel the tropical breezes on your face every morning. Enjoy coffee on the patio or seated at the kitchen table in the living room and dining room area. You have a private bathroom, plus a kitchen with a built-in coffee bar.
Lagoon Villas
When you want even more comfort, a Lagoon villa offers air conditioning for the hottest of Bahama days. A full spa set of services is at your fingertips and on demand if you would like a massage while looking out over the cove. A perk of the Lagoon Villa is an upgraded buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Lagoon Villa with One Bedroom
Lagoon villas are more akin to a studio apartment with a very open concept. If you would like more privacy, or you are traveling with more than a couple of people, a lagoon villa with one bedroom is ideal. The luxurious king-sized bed is tucked away in a room off the main common area, and you can draw drapes for privacy. If you never want to leave the room, these villas offer room service for all your food and beverage desires.

Lagoon Two-Bedroom Family Suite
When you are staying with up to a dozen people (or more!), kids included, you may want to stay in this Lagoon two-bedroom family suite. It has two bedrooms with massive beds that are oh, so comfy. The views are stunning, whether you are looking at the cove through the glass wall or you retract the wall completely to get those tropical breezes and ocean sounds floating around you.
