Guests of Princess Cruises will be rewarded with a more interactive cruise experience, thanks to the multi-million renovation of its Port Everglades terminal 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The newly designed terminal features a giant LED screen—which is over 8 feet tall and 53 feet wide. The massive screen is situated in the terminal’s Ocean Portal area – a space that cruise-goers access after going through check-in and security.
The large display permits each guest to engage with his or her Ocean Tagalong™, a companion that is created digitally. The Ocean Tagalong can take the form of a butterfly fish, sea turtle, or seahorse that can be further customized by the user.
The updated Port Everglades terminal will also feature MedallionNet™, which connects ship guests to Wi-Fi and permits them to enjoy a variety of mobile games on and off the ship.
Also, Ocean Medallion™ operates Carnival’s xIoT network, which provides guests who sail Medallion Class ships, faster boarding times and an enhanced experience when arriving at the terminal. Before boarding, guests can take refuge in the OceanView Theater, on the terminal’s first floor.
The first cruise ship to leave from the revamped terminal will be the Regal Princess, which will represent the first of several cruises designed to debut Ocean Medallion sailings.
