Recent news out of Miami reports that the cruise ship, the Carnival Imagination, is undergoing renovation during a three-week dry dock which is slated to occur September 4 through September 25, 2016.
Following the Carnival Imagination refurbishment, the ship will resume its year-round itinerary of 3 or 4 day cruises to Baja from Long Beach, California.
Some of the new dining and bar concepts that will be added include:
- Guy’s Burger Joint – A poolside restaurant that was developed in alliance with Guy Fieri, a Food Network personality. The restaurant will serve fresh-cut fries and burgers in a décor scheme that commemorates Guy’s love of cars and his California origins.
- RedFrog Rum Bar – A poolside bar that offers a Caribbean atmosphere. Rum-based frozen drinks and beers will be served including the Carnival line’s private brew, the ThirstyFrog Red.
- BlueIguana Cantina – A poolside eatery that features authentic Mexican food in the form of homemade tortillas and freshly made tacos and burritos.
Besides the poolside bars and restaurants, the Carnival Imagination refurbishment will include the addition of “Cherry On Top,” a sweet-treat retailer that will feature fun and fanciful novelties, customized apparel, and bins of bulk candy.
The new additions will complement many of the vessel’s other amenities including the ship’s WaterWorks, an aquatic park with a Twister slide that is 300 feet long.
